NovelAI

What it is

NovelAI (novelai.net) is the long-running anime image generator and AI storyteller from Anlatan. Its own NovelAI Diffusion models (now V5) are among the most popular for anime and illustrated art, with tag-based prompting, multi-character control, inpainting, Vibe Transfer and Director Tools for editing. The story side is an AI co-writer with lorebooks and long memory. Adult users can create explicit anime art and erotic stories, which is why it sits next to Civitai and Unstable Diffusion on AI Porn Sites.

What you pay

There is a free trial of about 30 images and 50 text generations for e-mail verified accounts. Tablet is $10 a month with unlimited text and 1,000 Anlas (image credits) a month, Scroll is $15 with bigger story memory, and Opus is $25 with 10,000 Anlas plus free normal-size single images on V4.5 and older models (V5 has usage limits). Extra Anlas can be bought while subscribed. The terms say there are no refunds unless granted, so check the plans before you pay.

Who it suits

Adults who want high-quality hentai and anime-style art or long NSFW stories and are happy to learn tag prompting. If you want photoreal AI porn, chat-style AI girlfriends or a free tool, PromptChan, CrushOn.AI or Civitai are better fits.

Worth knowing

You must be 18 or older. NovelAI says prompts are encrypted and generated images are not stored on its servers unless you save them. Subscription Anlas reset to zero when a subscription ends, so use them before cancelling.
